Today we’re sharing an exciting update to the Trial Module in SeedSoft – one that brings new capabilities for complex trials, while keeping everything you already know and love exactly as it is.
Trial Module: Now Even More Powerful
The Trial Module has always been a core part of SeedSoft, and we’ve been working hard to expand it to meet the needs of our growing customer base. The update introduces two clearly defined trial formats- so you can work exactly the way your business requires.
Product Trials – simple and almost unchanged
If you’re running straightforward trials today, almost nothing has changed. Product Trials work as they always have – simple, familiar, and reliable. When you select “Product Trial,” you’ll find the same workflow you already know. No disruptions, no learning curve.
Integrated Trials – for more complex needs
For customers running more advanced trials – involving rootstock, various pollinators or maybe even crop management programs – we’re introducing Integrated Trials as a powerful optional extension.
Here’s what Integrated Trials bring to the table:
• Plot-based structure: Your trial can be divided into individual plots, with each plot containing multiple products or activities (scion and rootstock, variety and bio-stimulant) etc. This is especially useful when testing different rootstock and scion combinations – for example, adding a tomato variety alongside its rootstock in a single, structured trial.
• Precise location mapping: You can now mark the exact location of each plot directly within the application, giving you a clear and accurate overview of your trial layout in the field.
In short: if your current Product Trial setup works for you, nothing changes. If you’re running complex, crop-program trials, Integrated Trials were built for you.
Map View of Trials – all your trials, one view
We’ve also added a brand new Map View to the SeedSoft WebApp! You can now see all your trials displayed on a single map, giving you a clear and instant geographical overview of everything that’s running. Whether you manage trials across multiple locations or just want a better visual overview, Map View makes it easier than ever to stay on top of your field activity – all in one place.
