Who we are
At Tellus Mater, we are passionate about empowering seed companies with innovative tools designed specifically for their unique challenges. Our flagship product, SeedSoft, is the result of over a decade of expertise in the seed industry and a commitment to improving how businesses manage their product portfolios and field trials.
SeedSoft was born out of real-world needs. In 2011, our co-founder Pascal realized the need for a digital solution to organize and track the vast number of trials across Africa. Over the years, this initial tool evolved into a comprehensive, flexible platform tailored to the needs of Seed companies around the globe.
The Beginning: A Standalone Seeds Variety Catalogue
Pascal recognized the need for a digital solution and developed the first version of a Seeds Variety Catalogue. This standalone database was designed to support the Africa Middle East (AME) team of Syngenta Vegetables, improving access to variety information.
Transformation into a Web-Based Platform
Maciej joined the team and led a complete overhaul of the system. The transition to a web application introduced key features such as trialing modules, workflows, pricing, and forecasting. The platform was adopted by the entire AME Vegetables team, resulting in:

• 400+ trials conducted yearly
• 1,000 varieties managed in the catalogue
• Over $1M in annual savings through optimized trial management, pricing policy enforcement, and streamlined processes

SeedSoft: A Comprehensive Business Management Platform
Pascal initiated the development of SeedSoft as an in-house Seed Business Management Platform for Telusem. The cloud-based system integrated essential tools, including variety catalogues, trial management, pricing, life-cycle tracking, and workflows, providing a seamless digital ecosystem for seed businesses. Of course the new system is no way related to Syngenta.
Global Expansion as a SaaS Solution
SeedSoft evolved into a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, making its powerful features accessible to innovative seed businesses worldwide.
We've also recognized the need to provide Change Management support and thus SeedSoft is a system, a set of business processes and an implementation service.
